Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply for a role at Torque Robotics?+
Click the "View JD" button on any open position above to read the full job description, then click "Apply Now" to fill in the application form. You can also email your resume directly to hr@torquerobotics.in with the position title in the subject line.
What is the typical hiring process at Torque Robotics?+
Our process typically involves: (1) resume screening by HR, (2) a technical interview with the department lead, (3) a practical or case-study round for engineering roles, and (4) a final discussion with management. The full process usually takes 2–3 weeks.
Does Torque Robotics offer internal growth opportunities?+
Yes. We actively promote from within. Engineers who demonstrate strong performance typically move into senior or lead roles within 2–3 years. We also offer cross-department exposure — for example, onsite engineers often transition into simulation or project management tracks.
Are freshers eligible to apply at Torque Robotics?+
Yes, for entry-level roles we welcome motivated freshers, especially those with a strong academic background in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering. Internship experience and relevant project work are a strong plus.
Which robot brands do I need experience with for an Onsite Robotics role?+
We primarily work with ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa, Kawasaki, and Nachi robots. Hands-on experience with at least one of these brands is required. Candidates with multi-brand proficiency are given preference.
Will I need to travel for the Onsite Robotics position?+
Yes. Onsite Robotics roles are field-based. You will be deployed at customer facilities across India — primarily in Pune, Gurgaon, Kharkhoda, and other automotive hubs. Travel allowances and accommodation support are provided during deployments.
What automotive applications will I work on as an Onsite Engineer?+
You will work on BIW processes including spot welding, arc welding, material handling, sealing and gluing, and roller hemming. Most of our clients are automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers, so understanding production line flow is important.
Is PLC knowledge required for Onsite Robotics roles?+
Basic PLC knowledge and an understanding of controls architecture are expected. You don't need to be a PLC programmer, but the ability to read and understand PLC logic for troubleshooting purposes is very valuable on production sites.
Which simulation software does Torque Robotics use?+
We primarily use Siemens Process Simulate (Tecnomatix) for BIW robotic simulation. Experience with DELMIA V5, Roboguide, or RobotStudio is also valuable. Process Simulate (PS) proficiency is the most important requirement for our simulation team.
Do Simulation Engineers also work onsite at client locations?+
Primarily, simulation work is done from our Gurgaon office. However, there are occasions where simulation engineers visit client sites for project kick-offs, design reviews, or to validate digital-to-physical accuracy during commissioning. These visits are typically short-term.
What does a typical simulation project look like at Torque Robotics?+
A typical project involves receiving CAD data and layout from the client, building the robot cell in Process Simulate, verifying robot reachability and cycle times, generating OLP (Offline Programs), and producing sign-off documentation. Projects range from single-station studies to full multi-robot line simulations.
Is BIW knowledge mandatory for a Simulation Engineer role?+
A solid understanding of BIW manufacturing processes is expected for Engineer 1 / Engineer 2 positions (3–5 years experience). For junior roles, foundational knowledge of robotic automation is sufficient, with expectation of rapid on-the-job learning.
What CAD software is used by the Mechanical Design team?+
Our design engineers primarily use CATIA V5 and UG NX (Siemens NX) for 3D modelling, 2D detailing, and BOM generation. Proficiency in at least one of these two platforms is mandatory for the Mechanical Design Engineer role.
What types of fixtures does the design team work on?+
The design team works on BIW weld fixtures (spot and MIG welding), robotic grippers, EOAT (End-of-Arm Tooling), machining fixtures, welding fixtures, and assembly fixtures. Designs follow OEM standards from clients such as Daimler, MSIL, TATA, and Mahindra.
What does the Project Manager role involve day-to-day?+
Day-to-day activities include coordinating with the design team, managing vendor timelines for part manufacturing, conducting quality checks on sourced components, tracking project milestones, and communicating progress to clients and directors. It is a cross-functional role requiring both technical and managerial skills.
Is travel required for Projects and Design roles?+
For Mechanical Design Engineers, work is primarily office-based in Gurgaon with occasional vendor visits. For the Project Manager role, travel to supplier facilities and client sites is required as projects move into manufacturing and installation phases.
Do I need a technical background for the Sales role?+
Yes. We look for candidates with a techno-commercial profile — ideally someone with an engineering background who can confidently explain the technical aspects of our robotics and automation solutions to clients. Prior experience in the robotics or industrial automation industry is strongly preferred.
What types of clients will I work with in the Sales role?+
Our clients are primarily automotive OEMs, Tier-1 and Tier-2 suppliers, and industrial manufacturers. You will engage with end-users, procurement teams, plant engineers, and consultants involved in new project planning.
Is there a sales target associated with this position?+
Yes, the Executive – Sales role is target-driven. You will be assigned an Annual Operating Plan (AOP) / Sales Target for your region. Monthly and quarterly forecasting is a key part of the role, and performance is reviewed regularly against the pipeline.
What is the sales territory for the Gurgaon-based Sales role?+
The Gurgaon position primarily covers the North India region, including NCR, Haryana, Rajasthan, and UP. There may also be opportunities to work on pan-India or key account initiatives depending on business needs and individual performance.
